OfferUp lets you post a certain number of listings for free each month. The number of free listings you get depends on the category you’re posting in. This approach keeps the feed diverse for buyers, and gives all sellers a fair opportunity to showcase their items.
Free listing limits by category
The number of free listings available to you each month varies by category and is subject to change at any time. Currently, the free listing limits in each category are as follows:

In general, you can post up to 200 free listings per month across all categories, with the exception of the Specific Category Limits listed in the table above. Posting an item for sale in a category with a specific limit does not count against the 200 combined limit and vice versa.
For example, posting in the Cars & Trucks category will only count against your 1 free monthly listing for that category; it will not count against the 200 combined limit in other categories.
Your free listings refresh on the 1st day of every calendar month, so you always have new opportunities to post for free. Any unused portion of your free listing allotment will expire at the end of each month and will not roll over to the following month.
Keep track of your free listings
The app will help you keep track of your free listings by alerting you when you have 1 listing left, and when you’ve run out. You will see the alert at the top of the Finish page as you complete the process of posting your item. The app alert will look something like this:
Buy more listings
When you run out of free listings for the month, you have the option to buy more. You can buy single listings in any category. And in select categories, you can also purchase a monthly subscription package.

Fee avoidance
Please be aware that attempting to bypass the listing limits or to avoid paying listing fees is strictly prohibited. This includes intentionally posting in an incorrect category or creating new OfferUp accounts to get around the listing limitations.
For example, if you run out of free listings in the Cell Phones & Accessories category, you cannot post a cell phone in another category (like Furniture) to avoid paying a listing fee.
Any attempt to avoid fees is in violation of our Posting rules and may result in the removal of your listing and/or further action being taken on your account.
